Key Race Info:
The Crushed Rock Classic is a multi-surface bike race, held on a 6.2 mile circuit in Ames, IA with a little bit of everything. The race include sections of crushed rock, pavement, and prairie trail. The terrain is undulating with two short, steep climbs per lap.
The Ridley Race Campus at Sunny Heights features picturesque views and is the perfect place to hang out, and enjoy the entire afternoon. As usual we will have plenty of awesome amenities including FREE BEER from Alluvial and Thirsty Pigs, swag and race support/tents from Ridley, and FREE CHILI for all participants. We will simply ask for a donation for anyone not racing that would like to enjoy the free goodies. There's now a 1 Lap Enthusiast Race for anyone looking to just get out and challenge themselves. It is a great opportunity to try out gravel and mixed surfaces in a fun and festive environment! Fat Bikes! We got you! There is now a 1 Lap Fat Bike race! We added an OPEN race so that gravel fanatics that don't have USAC road racing categorization can still race with the top level roadies. Game on! Fun Fact: The Crushed Rock Classic is a USAC sanctioned road event, so road upgrade points can be earned. |

The KOM/QOM competition will be scored each time across the Finish Line at Sunny Heights up the Ridley #BETough Climb. 3 places per race: + Open + Women's Open + Intermediate |
RACE PAYOUTS AND PRIZES
- Please note that women can participate and place in all events.
- Fastest laps have been ~18 to 18.5 minutes, with competitive lap averages being ~20 to 25 minutes.
